A Hamlet Named for Its Rocky Cliff
Rock Hill got its name in 1885, when a post office opened on a rocky cliff. Before that, the area was considered part of nearby Bridgeville. Today it's one of the busier residential areas along the Route 17 corridor, and demand for homes here has grown noticeably since 2020.
The hamlet also includes Emerald Green, a private lake community of about 1,400 acres, along with other year-round and seasonal homes near the water.
