One of the Oldest Communities in New York

New Paltz was founded in 1678 by French Huguenot refugees, after twelve patentees purchased the land from the Esopus Munsee people the year before. Historic Huguenot Street still preserves several of the stone houses their families built in the early 1700s.

The village's housing reflects that long history: older homes close to Main Street, apartment buildings and rentals near campus, and single-family homes spread across the larger town. Each calls for a different approach, and we plan every move around the specific home, not a one-size-fits-all checklist.

College Town Moves, Done Right

SUNY New Paltz keeps the town's rental market moving. When leases turn over at the end of a semester, demand for movers spikes, and so does the stress of fitting a move between finals and a new lease. We handle apartment moves of every size, from a single room to a shared house, and we're happy to help faculty and staff relocating for a new position.

Apartment moves come with their own challenges: walk-up stairs, shared hallways, and tight parking near campus. Our crews are experienced with all of it, and we'll help you plan the timing so you're not stuck between two leases.

New Paltz Moving FAQs

Do you move SUNY New Paltz students?
Yes — apartment and off-campus moves for students, plus home moves for faculty and staff. Small moves are welcome; you don't need a full house to book us.
When should I book a move in New Paltz?
Book early if your lease ends around the end of a semester, when many apartments turn over at once. Summer and the end of the month also fill up quickly.
Can you move furniture in and out of older homes in the village?
Yes. We plan ahead for narrow staircases, tight doorways, and limited parking, and we protect floors and woodwork during the move.
Do you serve the rural parts of the town outside the village?
Yes — including homes along the roads toward the Shawangunk Ridge and neighboring Gardiner. We check driveway and turnaround access before move day.
How far are you from New Paltz?
We're based in Pine Bush, a short drive southwest of New Paltz, so we serve the area regularly.
