Three Historic Neighborhoods
Kingston grew up as three distinct places: the Stockade District Uptown, settled by the Dutch in the 1650s; the Rondout, the old port on Rondout Creek; and Midtown along Broadway in between. All three are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
That history shapes moves here. Uptown and the Rondout have older brick and stone buildings with narrow stairs and tight streets, while the neighborhoods beyond mix apartments and single-family homes. We look at access ahead of time, so the right truck and crew show up on move day.

A City With a Long History
The Senate House, a stone house built in the 1670s, was where New York's first State Senate met in 1777, months before British troops burned the city that October. Today the Rondout waterfront is home to the Hudson River Maritime Museum, and the Stockade District is lined with shops and restaurants.
Kingston also sits right on the New York State Thruway, which keeps moves to and from Orange County, the Catskills, and the Capital Region straightforward.
